Circa 2008, I encountered a lovely couple, recently retired, and looking to put their 401(k) into something safe. After multiple meetings, they purchased fixed indexed annuities, as it met their objectives.
Despite starting SuranceBay in 2009 with my partners, I continued meeting with my clients annually, strategized allocation methods, and adjusted accordingly. Unfortunately, Mr. X suddenly passed away suddenly at the young age of 65 in 2012. Mrs. X subsequently rolled-over Mr. X’s existing annuity to a new one with a different carrier.
